Mary and Ray Testa has recently donated 17 letters written by Juneau crewmember William Meeker Jr S2c of Harrison NJ to the Juneau Douglas City Museum. These letters were written in 1942 by a young William Meeker to his neighbor, Winifred Blohm, Mary's mother. These letters offer a glimpse into a 18 years old man who was thrust into a world torn apart by war. Here is further reading on these letters, and we thank Mary and Ray for helping to preserve the Juneau's crew history. www.ktoo.org/2012/10/09/uss-juneau-letters-may-be-donated-to-museum/ www.theobserver.com/2013/08/28/remembering-uss-juneau/ www.ktoo.org/2012/11/11/letters-from-u-s-s-juneau-sailor-put-on-display-read/ www.king5.com/article/news/local/watch-moment-of-discovery-of-sunken-uss-juneau-by-paul-allen-backed-team/281-530519601
